DS111

DSCF6857

Hey peeps!  It’s Wednesday!  YAY, half-way through the week.  It’s been a struggle this week for me to keep up with everything I have been juggling.  I think I have summer-itis!!  If I don’t post for a day or so, don’t think I am AWOL…..maybe I’ll just take a wee break!  But I do have a card for you today, it uses the Deconstructed Sketch sketch #111, which I love:

Deconstructed Sketch 111

and I used it to make a baby card for new parents at my church:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings DS111 Nature Necessities Itty Bitty Banners Baby Card Stampin Up

I used a retired set, Nursery Necessities, for the elephant, and Itty Bitty Banners for the sentiment.  It’s pretty simple, really, just some layers and embossing and ribbon!  I know that this is a popular color combo currently and I like it too!

We had some trees cut down to make room for our new garage, and Cassidy wanted to shovel the sawdust!

She had sawdust EVERYWHERE!  Thanks for visiting today!

ColourQ 200

DSCF6894

Happy Tuesday peeps!  Are a lot of you on vacation?  I think my mojo has gone on vacation!  The creativity just isn’t flowing this week!  That’s too bad, too, because Arielle has a wonderful ColourQ palette for me (and you!) this week:

So here’s how my day went yesterday; went to Curves, ran errands, had a birthday lunch with my daughter, went clothes & shoe shopping, discovered I had poison ivy on my hand and face, tripped over the gas hose at the gas station and fell flat on my face (talk about embarrassing!) and then made a card that was missing one of the challenge colors.  Sigh.  So I had to start all over and all I could muster was this:

LeAnne Pugliese CQC200 Summer Silhouettes

It’s okay; it’s fine; it’s just not exciting!!!  But I guess that happens some days.  The florals are from Summer Silhouettes; the sentiment is Four You.  I did add some glitter to the flowers, which made me smile, but you probably can’t see it:

DSCF6893

And I love these colors….I really do!  They just didn’t love me back this week!  Hopefully you’ll love them and they’ll love you…show us what you create at the CQC blog!  Can’t wait to see it!

Merry Monday July–The Last One!

DSCF6871

Hi peeps!  Did you have a great weekend?  I had a lovely day yesterday, spent time with friends and family and DH bought me a new BabyLock sewing machine!  Can’t wait to sit down and play with it!  A new toy!

Today is the final Monday in July and that means that the “Anything Goes” challenge for Merry Monday is almost over!  You can check out all the details at Lesley’s blog, Always Playing with Paper.  There are some AMAZING cards featured there!  The one I am showing today is one we made at my last Christmas card stamp camp.  It’s very simple, but I think the images are delightful for Christmas:

And here is the inside:

DSCF6870

Of course, I couldn’t resist adding glitter to the snow…and I just love that little deer:

DSCF6872

The diecut “peace” was cut from Brushed Silver cardstock which had been backed with an adhesive sheet;  it made for an easy “stick-down” without having to use messy glue!  That’s especially helpful when using glitter, so it doesn’t get all over somewhere it’s not supposed to!

So I hope you will be able to help us celebrate Anything Goes---share your project and we can’t wait to see what you create!  Another card for the Christmas stash is always good!

I got some really nice birthday cards but haven’t photographed them yet, so I’ll be sharing them soon!  Thanks to everyone who sent me a card or wished me a happy birthday!  I loved them all!!!

My SIL brought her (only) granddaughter over to visit and Cassidy was smitten!  She just wanted to touch her and hold her!

Truthfully, I think Maggie was more smitten with Cassidy’s dolls!!!

Paper Players 156

DSCF6798-001

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It’s my turn to be the hostess at the Paper Players, and I have a sketch for you:

I had this sketch made up a few weeks ago, but imagine how happy I was when I got my new Holiday Mini goodies and O Holy Night was in that box:

PP155 LeAnne Pugliese O Holy Night

It works perfectly for the sketch!  I love the “subway art” style this image uses, and for ease, I stamped the image twice, once in Coastal Cabana and again in Bermuda Bay.  I cut out sections and adhered them to the Coastal Cabana panel and then stamped the star section and mounted them all on a Bermuda Bay mat.  It’s hard to see, but the designer paper has some shimmery silver on it…sooooo pretty!  So I stamped the stars in Encore Silver ink on to my Smoky Slate card to complement the silver, and rhinestones add some nice sparkle as well!   Here’s a closeup of the panel itself:

I hope you’ll play with us this week, and you can share your creation over at the Paper Players blog, so we all can gaze at your creativity!  Can’t wait to see what you come up with!  And be sure to check out the other designers creations as well!

Just goofin’ around!

CASe This Sketch 38

DSCF6853-001

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Are you enjoying your weekend so far?  I made a quick card today, using the (CAS)e This Sketch sketch 38:

which gave me a chance to use Tape It, a set I had wanted from the moment I saw it…and I finally got it!

LeAnne Pugliese CASe This Sketch 38 Tape It Delightful Dozen

A sweet family member is having a birthday soon, so this is for her….I stamped the strips in various pastel colors, then heat embossed the sentiment in black and added sequins.  And I used Chalk Talk for the inside:

That Tape It is a fun set to play with!

Here’s another card from my mailbox:

This is from Martha, and it featured a lovely popped-up diecut and cut-out sentiment!  So pretty!

PPA165 Silly Halloween

DSCF6846

Howdy, peeps!  Thank goodness it’s Friday!  Wow, it was so chilly yesterday here in SE PA, I wore a sweatshirt almost all day!  Can you say “refreshing”?!  Loved it!  It felt like fall, and my new orange and black glitter from the holiday mini was calling my name, so I made a silly Halloween card:

LeAnne Pugliese PPA165 Papaya Collage Halloween

I was really just sort of experimenting with my glitter, having fun with it!  First, let me tell you…don’t let the price of it throw you off; these are fairly good size jars of glitter,  so I think you get a lot for your buck!  You’ll be able to do lots of Halloween glittering with these!  I used an Adhesive Sheet adhered to a circle of Basic Black for my circular background.  I adhered my Smoky Gray embossed piece to it first, then simply sprinkled the black glitter on top!  Easy…the adhesive sheet provides a nice even surface to which the glitter can stick!  Then of course, I HAD to use the orange, so I ran a few lines of Sticky Strip across the panels and sprinkled them with the orange glitter!  Wheeee!  I glittered up the pumpkin and the bird’s hat too!  Don’t look too hard at my sewing.  I just had my machine fixed (I dropped it, remember?) and I am getting used to the new tension.  I’ll have to practice on that!  Here’s a closeup:

DSCF6846-001

I used the Pals Paper Arts sketch from this week, but I flipped the sketch so my bird would be looking inward:
PPA165[1]
So, it’s not the most elegant card out there, but like I said, I was having fun with that glitter!  And this is the way I store my glitter….in Gerber baby food containers:

DSCF6849

I know this isn’t a very good picture, but you get the idea.  The glitter fits in it perfectly, it sits neatly in my drawer and the glitter is all contained inside the container. If you don’t have any babies, just go buy some baby food applesauce and eat it yourself…it’s worth it to have these little containers! I use them ALL THE TIME in my craft room!  Or maybe you know someone who has a baby…that would work, too!
My shared card today is from my friend Linda:

DSCF6713

This beauty was embossed on glossy paper, then ink was brayered over it….such a cool technique, and I love the little gem on the sentiment!  Linda has been a faithful reader and has given me ideas on how to keep Cassidy occupied, entertained and growing!  Thanks, Linda!

Washi Wonders

DSCF6460

Hello, peeps!  I’ve got a couple of washi-embellished cards today that I made a wee bit ago!  The first one uses a Chalk Talk die; I covered a piece of white cardstock with strips of the tape, then cut it out with the die and decorated it with various embellishments and ribbons:

DSCF6459

Here’s a closeup of the tag:

DSCF6461

Don’t these colors and prints just make you happy?

The next one is a CASE from Mary Fish, but I added a strip of washi tape before punching out the butterfly, then did some piercing around the opening:

DSCF6632

These both feature the new note cards, a nice little size!  The smaller butterfly is embellished with a candy dot:

DSCF6634

as well as a pretty little sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts!  Sweet too!

Another sweet card I received from my friend Christy!

DSCF6712

I just love all the details on this!

Cassidy was playing around Grampy’s tractor and got a little souvenir; you might be able see the smudge on her nose and her cheek as well, LOL!

Have a blessed day!
