Happy Thursday, peeps!  The weekend is almost here, yippee!  And yesterday brought beautiful sunshine and warmer temps…finally!  I snuck in some stamping time before Cassidy came home from preschool, playing with the Freshly Made Sketches sketch to make a customer thank-you:

I had these Lullaby and Park Lane papers laying on my desk for something…..can’t remember what…so I used them!  I cut my Hello Honey card base a little narrower than normal so that it would still fit in a standard-sized envelope with the tag hanging off the edge:

I added a panel from the In Color Background papers in Pistachio Pudding, stamped some flowers from Flower Patch in Coastal Cabana and Soft Suede, and made a fun tassel from some baker’s twine.   Since my club girls will be doing some embossing techniques this month, I heat-embossed the sentiment from Another Thank You with Versamark and Soft Suede inks and clear embossing powder:

Can you see the shine?  I made an extra card for them since this one is going in the mail!

It’s April….still only April…..but Cassidy was so thrilled that it was warmer outside, she came out of her bedroom dressed like this:

She conned Grampy into giving her a tub to make a pool (she actually wanted us to put up our inflatable pool….NOT yet!!!) and she stuck her feet in and then hopped back out!!  Silly girl!

Enjoy your day!

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  YAY, the sun is finally shining, lifting me from my funky mood, LOL!  Although the heat is still coming on in the evening, the weather forecasters swear it will be warmer by the end of the week!

It seemed appropriate to share this simple card today:

I got some new goodies from Technique Tuesday and stamped this image very simply with Pistachio Pudding and added some twine and sequins to finish it off.  I used Gayatri’s sketch from (CAS)e This Sketch:

I always love her creations, she is so clever!

That’s it for today…Tuesday is errand day, and my list is long!  I’ll leave you with a couple photos from a few weeks ago before the grass had greened up in the yard; kids and sticks just seem to attract each other!  I nixed them using them as swords before they injured themselves!!! (Cass had been riding her bike before her cousins arrived…hence the helmet!)

Believe

DSCF9526

My sweet friend Wendy is hosting the Merry Monday challenge today and I just had to play along!  Here’s the fun challenge:

I pulled out an old faithful Christmas set called Peaceful Wishes and went to work.  I fussy-cut the pine cone which was stamped in Cajun Craze and popped it up after glittering it up with some orange glitter.  I also used some Heat & Stick powder to add orange glitter to a glimmer brad for my sentiment, which is from an older PTI set called Believe.  It was cut out with a Word Bubbles die, with the “hanger” cut off:

This also incorporates the Try Stampin’ on Tuesday sketch:

as well as the Kraft Journal’s challenge to use ribbon or twine.  Here’s mine:

Any questions, shoot me an email, gotta scoot!

Knitting needles and one of those big horns (Nance, I can’t remember what the name of it is!!!)…..the endless imagination of 4 year olds!

Paper Players 242

DSCF9460

Hi everyone!  It’s Sunday, and that means another challenge from the Paper Players!  This week Ann is our lovely hostess and she has an awesome sketch for us!  This is pretty close to my favorite layout, so I had lots of fun with this one!

Last week I seemed to be stuck on vintage images, so I opted for a bright, funky and fun card for today, using the soon-to-be-retired Yippee Skippee along with the cool photopolymer set, Epic Alphabet:

If you haven’t had enough coffee today, this one will wake you up for sure!  I am trying to use up my stash of DSP too…this one happens to be from the Sweet Taffy line, along with Park Lane and Maritime for the banners.  I stamped and cut out some elements from the Epic Alphabet for a little extra ooomph and decorated them with some Candy Dots as well.  The upper portion of my Tempting Turquoise card was embossed with the Zig Zag EF:

And I almost forgot the sentiment at the bottom….this one’s from A Dozen Thoughts to finish it off!

And since I needed another thank you card, I made another one (told you I liked this sketch!)….this one used Chalk Talk and an isolated word from Good Greetings along with some Lullaby DSP, Gold Satin ribbon and a few scraps:

I hope you’ll play along with the Players this week!  I always enjoy seeing what you stampy, crafty folks out there come up with!  Here’s what the DT did as well:

John has a terrible cold and was gargling in the bathroom; Cassidy was quite intrigued and wanted him to teach her how to do it:

She just about got it, too!

Happy Saturday, peeps!  I found myself needing another sympathy card this week so I pulled out some beautiful Graphic 45 Botanical Tea papers I have been hoarding, along with the Match The Sketch sketch from this week:

to create my card:

LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings Bible Verse Sympathy Papillion Potpourri

I love how all the patterns on these papers coordinate.  I used my drop-arm cutter to cut the right-hand panel out and flipped it over to the other side, which was a vanilla with a very light mottled tone.  I stamped French Script on it very lightly in Pistachio Pudding, the over-stamped the leaves from Kinda Eclectic in the same ink.  My cutting blade is very dull, so the edges of my panel were sort of distressed, so I sponged them with Sahara Sand before fitting it back into the green panel.  I used a retired Cornish Heritage Farms Bible verse, stamped in Chocolate Chip ink on top:

DSCF9456

I added the large butterfly from Papillion Potpourri, stamped in Chocolate Chip and colored with Pistachio ink atop a couple of circular elements, then I pulled out a stamp I haven’t used in AGES,  Waltzingmouse’s Country Labels 4 and stamped my sentiment from Petite Pairs inside:

I love this layout as well as these papers, so hopefully I will be using them both again soon!

Baby Mike (yes, I know, he’s either naked or wearing a dress….don’t try to influence a 4YO, they do what they want to do) got some play time outside recently:

Hi everyone!  Finally Friday, glad to see the weekend ahead!  I am still playing with Guy Greetings, making some samples for my club girls next week, and when I saw the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments, my mind went to the collection of hats from the set:

I used Adventure Bound (again!) and Sahara Sand, with some Real Red accents, and stamped the hats across the card, taping off some of them to create a more eye-pleasing pattern:

I cut out one hat, gave it a Real Red hatband and popped it up for fun:

And on the inside, I stamped the hats again in Versamark, then stamped the sentiment on top:

Thanks for popping in today!

We had a squirrel relaxing on our picnic table the other day….Cassidy couldn’t wait to shout at it to scare it away!

Happy Thursday, peeps!  A fun little card today that I was playing around with a couple of days ago, and imagine my surprise when I saw the Color Throwdown colors for this week!  A perfect match!
I was experimenting with Heat & Stick powder and SU’s silver glitter; the big sentiment from So You seemed to fit the bill:
LeAnne Pugliese WeeInklings So You Stampin Up Glittery Smile
If you’ve not ever used H&S, it’s easy and fun!  Stamp your image with Versamark ink, then sprinkle the H&S on top just like embossing powder and heat it.  It will quickly turn sticky (don’t overheat it!) and you can sprinkle on any fine glitter.  Heat it again to set the glue and glitter and you’ve got  a great sparkly image!  Works best with large, solid images.
I stamped the sunburst image from Kinda Eclectic in Daffodil Delight and stamped a sentiment on top, then punched it out with a circle and mounted it just above the “smile”.  A little yellow heart finished it off.  DSP is from the Stacked with Love pack!

RS161 Classic Birthday

DSCF9418

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Did you get a look at Stampin’ Up!’s retiring list?  Oh my….I would say almost 50% of my stamp sets are going away!  Boohoo!  I guess we need room for more new goodies, but ouch, it hurts!

I am always in need of masculine cards, so I took the RetroSketches sketch:

and paired it up with the fun Guy Greetings set from the mini catalog to make this note card for my BIL:

I stamped directly onto the Adventure Bound DSP in Early Espresso ink,  and used Cajun Craze ink and Candy Dots for a masculine contrast.  And since this card is getting sent off, I wanted to create another one for my sample box, and I used the retiring Apothecary Accents die to make my top panel:

I made a little banner with the Zigzag embossing folder…I love this cool look!

Enjoy your day!

Cassidy and I were reading a book on her bed earlier this week, in the hopes she would take a nap.  Well, guess who fell asleep first!?  Grammy!  But after a few minutes of my catnap, I heard some rustling and ruching around and then quiet…….and this is what I saw when I very carefully got up:

A pile of pillows on the floor between the bed and the wall, and she was out like a light!

Happy Tuesday, peeps!  A real quick post today, it’s errand-running day!  I’ve got a Christmas card for you, for the Merry Monday cat or dog challenge, as well as the Kraft Journal’s Anything Goes – Girlfriends challenge!

I also used the Mary Jo’s Technostamper sketch for this week:

I like cats and dogs, but surprisingly, I don’t have many stamps of either…especially with a Christmas theme!  I did remember this set, Winter is Calling, had a little puppy in it, so I pulled it out and stamped it simply in Real Red, then added some digital DSP, burlap and sequins and mounted it on a Crumb Cake card base:

The “girlfriends” challenge is sort of tongue-in-cheek;  the two girls are obviously friends, so that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it!!!  Here’s a closeup of my little pup, and you can see the glittery snow, too:

DSCF9409

My sentiment is from Great Greetings, stamped on the banner from the Circle Card thinlet.

I have to confess that I haven’t been doing a lot of stamping lately (which I need to remedy) but I have been knitting up a storm!  I made a poncho for my niece for next fall; she just turned a year last month, so I hope she gets a lot of use from it!  I loved knitting with this wool, it was soft and easy to work with, and now I want to make a sweater of my own with it….if I dare!!!   I have to confess that Dana crocheted the flowers as well as the string tie, as I don’t know how to crochet!! So here it is:
