PP342 CAS Leaves

Hi everyone!  Sunday is here and that means another Paper Players challenge!  Jaydee is our lovely hostess with a tic-tac-toe theme!  I chose the center column:

Since I cannot seem to get my act together lately, another CAS creation is in the cards for me today! I went searching for a sketch and found this one from CAS(E) this Sketch by my sweet friend, Jen:

I took a thick white card base and masked it off, then stamped a tiny portion from the retired French Script background stamp in Cucumber Crush ink, then added some diecut Vintage Leaves:

A sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs and a few sequins, and it was done!  The inside features another leaf and a sentiment from Cottage Greetings!

Be sure to check out the PP blog where you can see ALL the creations from the Design Team...so many different interpretations of the tic-tac-toe grid!  What will YOU create?  Share it with us, please!

Mommy bought Cassidy a little Usborne art book complete with wee little rubber stamps featuring different shapes, along with some little ink pads.  There are pictures in the book that you can embellish with the shapes!  It's so cute and fun!

Here she added a bow tie (backwards, oops!) to the boy, and hairbows to the girls' hair!  It looks like so much fun, I want to play too!  I share my stamps and ink, right?!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

Fun Z-Fold Card

Happy Friday, everyone!  I saw a very cute card with a fun z-fold made by my friend Mary Alice! You can see it here.  I simplified it a little for an upcoming class, and also made one for my SIL whose birthday is today!  I pulled out some retired Domestic Goddess DSP along with the Perfect Mix and Suite Sentiment sets:

I stamped the images on thick white cardstock and watercolored them with Pool Party and Watermelon Wonder inks...I just love those colors together! I added a little enamel heart from a past Paper Pumpkin kit; although the colors don't quite match, I think it will do!  I did a little paper piecing for the oven mitt on the inside as well:

Since my SIL is one of the best cooks I know, I thought this would be right up her alley!  Thanks for popping in today!

It was FINALLY nice enough for two of my "children" to run around and play in the yard Wednesday evening, LOL!

Enjoy your weekend and be blessed!

LIM325 and FMS285 Warm Fuzzies

Happy Thursday, peeps!  The week is winding down....we've had rain and gloom all week so I am looking forward to the sunshine the weatherman says we'll be getting!  Today's card was SO quick; I already had two of the elements stamped and cut, unused from a previous project!  When I saw the Less is More challenge to use stripes and Amy's fun sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, I knew just how to put them all together!

So here we go with my uber-CAS creation!:

These little bunny slippers had already been stamped in Basic Black ink and colored with ink and an aquapainter, and the sentiment was already stamped on vellum, so all I had to do was find some matching striped paper, and I found it quickly in a new little 6x6 pad from Photoplay called French Flea Market!  I used a stitched circle die to quickly cut it out, adhered it all together and it was good to go!

These little slippers would make anyone feel better!

Cassidy is a great little helper in the kitchen....she made short work of those cherry tomatoes and red peppers!!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

MM245 and CASCS220 Kraft Christmas Cabin

Hi everyone!  Hope you're having a great week!  I am suffering with allergies....I am sure there are many of you who can sympathize, sniff sniff!  But stamping usually takes my mind off of them!  Today I have a CAS Christmas card using the Merry Monday Kraft challenge as well as the CAS Colours and Sketches sketch:

SU has some lovely Kraft cardstock that I believe is going to retire, sadly.  It is a little lighter than regular cardstock, but each side features a slightly different shade of Kraft!  After embossing mine, I mounted it on a piece of thick white cardstock to give it a sturdy base.  Here we go:

I heat-embossed a wee little wintry cabin from Altenew with white craft ink and white embossing powder on a piece of the Kraft, then mounted it on a piece of Whisper White.  I added some white shading with my aquapainter and a few snowflakes with a white gel pen:

The top border was punched with an older Martha Stewart snowflake punch, and the inside sentiment is from Papertrey:

I added some simple sequins and pearls, then finished it off with a bit of thick baker's twine at the top!  So glad you could pop in today!

Living out in the country, we get critters ALL the time on our property.  We have a bell at the end of our driveway that lets us know when someone is driving in....I'll bet it went off four times in the middle of the night because of the deer meandering around our yard!  Anyway, John noticed some boards dislodged under our utility shed, so he set out the Have-a-Heart trap and within a day, we got a ground hog!  Cassidy was intrigued, but not enough to get too close (don't mind the dingy in the background, LOL!):

Mr Groundhog was not happy to be caged up, so John took him somewhere far, far away to start a new life!

The joys of living in the country!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!

SIP96 CAS Wedding

Happy Tuesday, everyone!  It's time for another Stamp Ink Paper challenge....CAS wedding!
No automatic alt text available.

Wedding season is coming up!  Sadly, I have very few stamps that would be considered "wedding" stamps, but I did find a couple images from the retiring Every Occasion that worked!  I used the sketch from last week's Freshly Made Sketches; even though it's too late to submit, I thought the sketch was fun and worked well with my images and papers:

I just got some pretty springy papers from Bo Bunny's Petal Lane Collection and I picked out a simple stripe that would complement my heart and wedding bells:

I used a tiny bit of black for accent and used another banner from Time of Year (it was already sitting on my desk from yesterday's card!) and added some elements from The Paper Studio to complete my sentiment!  Easy and quick!  I hope you'll share your CAS wedding creations with us...be sure to check out what the other DT did as well!

Saturday was room clean-up time!  Of course, there had to be some hijinks before she got down to serious work, although she did put the clothes away that were in the basket before she got into it!  Silly girl!

And she proudly showed Grampy her room once it was done...not perfect, but we're "in training"!

Enjoy your day and be blessed!

PP341 Redux

Hi peeps!  Hope you had a great weekend!  I had rather a lazy weekend, so my card today is a re-do of yesterday's sketch from the Paper Players! (You can see the sketch here).  I liked it so much, I made another card, this time for my BIL whose birthday is today....uh oh, it's going to be late!  Anyway, here it is, using Moroccan and Serene Scenery DSPs, Endless Birthday Wishes and Time of Year:

It's hard to see in the photo, but the base is Very Vanilla (I need to get another background for my neutral cards!) and I added some of those cool Urban Underground embellishments!  My BIL is a contractor, so he'll appreciate them, LOL!

John went to work day at church on Saturday morning, and it was gray and gloomy, so I tempted the girls with playing with the new Paper Pumpkin kit, since Cassidy enjoys painting!  I brought out all my watercolor pencils, and she wanted to do ALL of the designs!!!

I haven't made them into cards yet, but I'll try to do that this week!  Here's Cassidy's first attempt...it almost looks like her Avon Grove tie-die shirt colors!!  They really enjoyed it!

Enjoy your day and be sure to come back tomorrow for a Stamp Ink Paper challenge!  Be blessed!

PP341 Congrats

Happy Sunday, peeps!  It's Paper Players time and my sweet friend Sandy has a fabulous sketch for us today!

I pulled out another set ready to retire that again, I really didn't get to play with enough!  You're Sublime has such cute images and I thought this would be sweet for a new recruit who signed up during SAB:

I stamped my image on thick white cardstock in Stazon, then used inks and an aquapainter to color it in:

The background paper is Moroccan, and the sentiment is actually a graduation sentiment, but I taped off a portion of the stamp before inking it in Watermelon Wonder ink, then cut it out with a Bitty Banner die!  To make the rectangular stitched background piece, I cut two squares from a stitched die, trimmed one, and butted them together under the sentiment so the seam was not visible.  I love to get extra use from my dies like that!

I hope you'll play along with our sketch this week..there are so many possibilities with it, I know I will be saving it for future use!  Check out what the DT did on the Paper Players blog and be sure to share yours with us too!

While on spring break, we visited a different library, listened to story hour and then Cassidy decorated a little birdhouse with markers:

Grampy put an eye hook in it for her:

And she hung it on a holly branch:

Enjoy your day and be blessed as well as a blessing to someone!

Happy Card and More Happy Mail

Hi everyone!  Happy Saturday!  It's gray and gloomy here this weekend, so I thought I would share a happy, cheerful card I made recently to say "thank you" to a customer!  I had never used this particular pattern of the Festive Birthday DSP...it was a wee bit too busy for me....but I thought it would be fun to pair it with the flowers from Basket Bunch as well as the retiring Friendly Wishes!  So here we go:

The sentiment was stamped in Melon Mambo and diecut with an oval stitched die; then I stamped the flowers in Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Delightful Dijon, then lightly sponged each one so as not to overpower the outline:

I thought they worked with the floral background pretty nicely!  It sure made me happy! And I had to chuckle when I saw my German friend Claudia's blog yesterday!  Check out her card here!  Great minds think alike!

Here are a few more cards that made me happy as well!  This is from Claudia:

And two cards from my upline Pennie:

And finally, some REAL happy flowers from a recent jaunt to Longwood Gardens:

Aren't they gorgeous?!  Enjoy your day and be blessed!  And be sure to come back tomorrow for the next Paper Players challenge!
